Fitness and sports
Practicing a sport is very demanding, and in order to reach its maximum potential, the body must be as well prepared as possible. Nothing is more important for the well-being of the body than proper nutrition.
Choosing the right food helps you maintain your desired weight and always be in shape. An essential part of physical training is diet.
There is no miracle product or nutritional supplement that will provide you with all the nutritional principles you need. Some foods provide mainly protein, others contain vitamins and minerals. The key to a balanced diet is to choose foods that are as varied as possible.
Nutritional principles - proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and minerals - and water work together for optimal nutrition. Just as each player has a role in the team, each nutrient fulfills a certain function in the body. Therefore, the lack of an element is harmful to the body, which needs all the principles to function properly. Therefore, the diet of an athlete (and everyone in general) must provide all the nutritional principles every day.
Intense physical activity increases nutritional needs. Therefore, athletes need more energy, water and even salt (sodium chloride). A young person who practices a performance sport may need 5,000 calories a day, unlike another, for which the recommended caloric intake is 3,000 calories.
Water lost during sweat training is not easy to replace. Insufficient water intake during intense exercise can lead to dehydration. Water consumption should never be limited during training. In addition, various special drinks for athletes have appeared on the market, which contain electrolytes, carbohydrates and other nutritional principles. These are especially indicated if the physical activity lasts more than an hour.
